About me and my therapy practice

Perhaps you are on this page because there is something hurtful or confusing in your present life. The coronavirus pandemic creates its own problems and may have worsened the impact of what was troubling you already. Or is something from your past or childhood troubling you? As you acknowledge and sort through what's going on, I will support you. I am skilled, safe, and listen well. In my counselling, you can safely say the things that are running through your mind but which you wouldn't say anywhere else.

I work privately from home - currently using an online video platform - in a dedicated space on the edge of a village in the Forest of Dean. Clients come to me personally or via employee assistance schemes. My usual fee is £40 per session but reduced fees are available if you are on benefits.

We might meet for six to eight sessions, or longer term, as required. In the first session we will decide whether to carry on with the counselling.

My method is 'integrative’, and draws on humanistic, psychodynamic and person-centred approaches, and others as appropriate, including CBT.

If you would like more information, you are welcome to ring me to discuss how I might be able to help. If I can't answer the phone immediately, I will get back to you very soon.

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of South Wales as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling. Also, I am a registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I have DBS registration.

In a previous career I was an English teacher and a university lecturer in education in Bristol. Earlier qualifications are a degree in English, a PGCE, an MEd and an MPhil in language development.

Practice description

Online for the duration of the lockdown. I shall resume face to face counselling when this becomes safe for us.
