About me and my therapy practice
Hello my name is Sharon and welcome to my profile.
Counselling Style
Our sessions will always be led by you, this will be your space to bring anything that you wish to the session. My aim is to best support you in any way I can which includes providing you with a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings, whilst offering an environment that is non judgemental, where you can talk openly and freely with no influences and no pressure.
During our sessions, I will ask you questions so we can explore what is going on for you, giving me the opportunity of understanding your life through your eyes.
My approach is open and empathetic, and is influenced by Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Practice description
I have worked in both my private practice and external agencies, as a counsellor for a number of years, working with people who are suffering from Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Self-esteem issues, Borderline Personality Disorder, Substance Abuse and many other issues that cause personal problems for people on a daily basis.
At present, alongside my private practice I am working in a Private Rehabilitation with people who have substance abuse issues, in both 1:1 counselling and also in a group setting. This part of my work has allowed me huge insight into how addiction is different for each person, but it has also allowed me to see how depression and anxiety plays a huge part in the life of a person with an addiction and their families.
I have been fortunate enough to meet some amazing people on my counselling journey all of whom has taught me something in one way or another. I update my training constantly which includes not only in depth and updated training, but also training on new and different counselling techniques. This allows me to be my best for each individual client, regardless of the issues they are facing.
