About me and my therapy practice
If you are suffering with anxiety, depression, a lack of self-confidence, loneliness or isolation, conflict in relationships at home or at work, an inability to move past painful experiences, bereavement or loss (in any form), difficulty with navigating a life-transition - or if you are simply wanting to explore who you are and who you'd like to be - I can help.
I am a down to earth, qualified and experienced Person-Centred Psychotherapist and Counsellor who can offer you a warm, kind and safe therapy relationship, within which you can make sense of your experiences and your responses to them. You will be welcomed without judgement just as you are, and through regular, weekly sessions we can build a relationship in which you can grow to trust yourself more fully, accept your own sense of direction and grow into and enjoy a more authentic self.
You will steer us: you decide what to share, at your own pace and for as many sessions as you'd like. We can regularly review our work together to ensure that you continue to get what you need and your feedback about your experience of me, of my approach to you and of the therapy itself is welcome throughout the process.
With a background in performance arts, I bring my experience, insight and understanding of the particular difficulties actors, dancers and musicians can face, to my work with them.
I have also researched the impact of attending boarding school, and the particular reverberations those who've boarded might feel in adult life, for my MSc in Psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute.
I do understand that it can take courage to make contact with a therapist and I'm here when you are ready. Give me a call or send me an email and we can make an arrangement to meet. We can talk through why you're looking for therapy now and what you are hoping for from it. We can get a feel for how we could work together and for whether we might be a good 'fit'.
I look forward to meeting with you.
Practice description
I work face-to-face and online from a practice room on Kingsland Road in Dalston on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
I offer weekly therapy and I work with adults on a one to one basis (rather than with couples).
Please don't hesitate to get in touch by email, text or phone-call to check my availability and to arrange an initial session.
My first session
Our first session gives us an opportunity to meet - without any obligation to continue - online or in person, and for you to share what brings you to therapy now and what it is you're hoping for from the process. You are very welcome to bring any questions you might have about me and my approach and we can each get a feel for how we might work together and whether we both feel we could forge a relationship which could be useful to you.
I offer a full 50 minute session for this and I charge my usual fee.
If we both decide we would like to meet again, you may choose to meet for a number of weeks and then to review whether to continue, or you might embark upon the therapy with a more open-ended approach, reviewing as we go.
