About me and my therapy practice
If you are suffering with anxiety, depression, a lack of self-confidence, loneliness or isolation, conflict in relationships at home or at work, an inability to move painful past experiences, bereavement or loss (in any form), difficulty with moving through a life-transition - or if you are simply wanting to explore who you are and who you'd like to be - I can help.
I am a down to earth, qualified and experienced Person-Centred Psychotherapist who can offer you a warm, kind and non-judgmental therapy relationship within which you can make sense of your experiences and your responses to them. You will steer us: you decide what to share, at your pace and for as many sessions as you'd like. We can regularly review our work together to ensure that you continue to get what you need.
With a background in performance arts, I bring my experience, insight and understanding of the particular difficulties actors, dancers and musicians can face, to my work with them.
I have also researched the impact of attending boarding school, and the particular reverberations those who've boarded might feel in adult life, for an MSc in Psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute.
I do understand that it can take courage to make contact with a therapist and I'm here when you are ready. Give me a call or send me a text or an email and we can make an arrangement to meet. We can talk through why you're looking for therapy now and what you are hoping for from it, you can get a feel for how we could work together and for whether we might be a good 'fit'.
I look forward to meeting you.
I work online-only on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from my practice room in Dalston on Wednesdays and Fridays, either face-to-face or online.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch by email, text or phone call to check my availability and to arrange an initial session.
My first session
Our first session gives us an opportunity to meet - without any obligation to continue - whether that's online or in person, and for you to share what brings you to therapy now and perhaps what it is you want from the process.
We can get a feel for how we might work together and whether we might be able to forge a relationship which could be useful to you. If we decide we would like to meet again, you may choose to meet for a number of weeks and then to review whether to continue, or you might embark upon the therapy with a more open-ended approach, reviewing as we go.
