About me and my therapy practice
People enter into therapy for different reasons - perhaps you are unhappy with aspect of your life, experiencing a crisis or desire further insight into the causes of your distress, unhappiness or anxiety.
Taking the first steps towards therapy can feel daunting, especially if you feel confused about what you might need, or aren’t sure what to expect from the process. You may even be wondering if therapy will make a difference at all. These are all understandable and normal reactions to beginning such a journey.
I am an experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist based in North and North West London and online. I have over 12 years experience working with adults of all ages from diverse backgrounds, and a wide range of issues.
I am registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council and accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and abide by their code of ethics.
I offer a safe, non-judgemental and private setting where you can freely explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
I will listen to you carefully and thoughtfully, and provide a space for you to unravel and more fully understand yourself, your life and relationships.
How I Work
The Psychodynamic model maintains the view that the difficulties and anxieties we experience in our adult lives, the way we may think or feel about ourselves and how we relate to others, often have origins much further back in our earlier lives and childhood.
These earlier experiences may have led in adult life to unhelpful patterns of thought or negative or unhealthy beliefs you hold about yourself or your life.
I will work with you to more fully understand yourself, past experiences and relationships and to work through the conflicts and difficulties you are experiencing.
This process offers you valuable self-expression and reflection, ultimately allowing you to live a life that feels more genuine, connected and meaningful.

My first session
Getting Started
If you think you might benefit from psychotherapy or counselling, the first step would be for you to get in touch with me. I offer a free 10 minute phone consultation where you can tell me a little more about yourself. Contact me by phone or email to arrange this.
After this we may decide to schedule an Initial Consultation for which my fee is currently £85 for individuals and £110 for couples.
An Initial Consultation offers you the opportunity to say more about what brings you to psychotherapy at this point in your life, and to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in more depth.
I will listen to you carefully without prejudice or judgement in order to gain a greater understanding of you, your life and the difficulties or issues you may be facing.
This initial meeting will be a chance for us to think together about what might be most useful for you, and whether short term counselling (for example 6 - 12 sessions) or open-ended psychotherapy would be more suitable.
I have availability in person at my consulting rooms in Highgate or online.
