About me and my therapy practice
Hello there, I’m Maddison a qualified pluralistic integrative counsellor, with an open, warm, empathic, non-judgemental approach to working with clients, providing you with a safe space to explore, process and work through any of the difficulties you may be facing.
Working pluralistically means that I value each client as individual, the expert of themselves, and as an individual, each client will have different needs at different times during counselling. As such, the therapeutic process involves flexible collaboration, with us working together, and tailoring my approach to each session, to ensure that you are able to achieve what you want from our sessions. You may need a space to be heard and understood, or to process trauma, or come to terms with difficult changes or losses in your life, or to understand and learn how to deal with difficult emotions, or to explore and challenge negative thinking that can hold you back from being the person you want to be - whatever you may want or need from our sessions, we can work together to achieve this, and find a way for you to turn the page over and live the life you want to live, as the person you would like to be.
I understand that at times during our life, we can feel stuck, unhappy with the way things are or the way that we view ourselves, and how difficult it can be to change, often not knowing where to start. Through counselling, I aim to encourage you to accept change as an inevitable part of life, and empower you to take the steps that you may need to take to see the changes you desire, by allowing space for us to reflect on what those steps may be, and supporting you to recognise and embrace your strengths and potential. I want to always help you to help yourself turn the page over, continue afresh, and live the life you want to live as the person you want to be.
I offer counselling online or over the telephone.
I also offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation to allow us the chance to see if we’re the right fit for each other; As counselling is such a personal process, it's important to ensure that your counsellor is right for you. Please feel free to get in touch via telephone, email or my website
