About me and my therapy practice

Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile.

Life is hard, no question about it. Particularly nowadays, when the world seems to be in such a state. Perhaps you are experiencing emotional difficulties such as anxiety or depression. Perhaps the problem is you feel nothing at all. Maybe you've experienced a massive life event such as a bereavement, separation or job loss and have been left struggling to cope. Or maybe you need help dealing with a painful life history. Talking to someone who actively listens to your difficulties can be a very healing experience, as well as life changing. I offer a safe, confidential and empathic environment in which we can explore past and current issues in order to help you enjoy a richer, more meaningful life.

Practice description

I hold a holistic view of the world and of people in general, and am aware of the need to consider mind, body, emotions and the spiritual dimension in therapeutic work.  I welcome the opportunity to work with difference with respect and an open mind.

My approach is integrative - a blend of contemporary psychodynamic psychotherapy and energy psychotherapy practices such as EFT and AIT. This means that we will talk about whatever issues you would like to bring and may relate them to earlier life experiences, but I may also invite you to work with your breath or gently tap or place a hand on your body to help clear trauma, retrieve memories or release feelings, thoughts and sensations if you feel inclined to do so.

Therapy is a supportive process in a safe, contained environment. You can bring whatever you would like to discuss and we will talk about ways in which you can soothe and learn how to manage difficult feelings, and ultimately heal their root cause.

Taking the first step towards entering therapy can be daunting, but it is a bold move and one that you will not regret. Psychotherapy is, quite simply, a life changing process.

My first session

Sessions last for 50 minutes.

I will require you to fill out an assessment form and sign a GDPR agreement. Once you have decided to work with me for a set number of sessions or open-ended therapy, I will send you a contract.

I work on a sliding scale of £75-£95. If you are able to pay more, I will use the difference to fund a low-cost client. That way, I am able to offer more than two low-cost therapy spaces to people who may need it.
