About me and my therapy practice
I practice Jungian informed psychodynamic psychotherapy which means that I am trying, alongside with my clients, to find the underlying cause for their distress. This we do by discussing the client’s experiences, feelings, dreams and memories and following closely the dynamics of the relationship that develops between the two of us to look for meaningful insights and parallels.
I provide open-ended and short-term therapy services at DK Therapy in Notting Hill. My aim is to make clients feel safe and supported while exploring their difficulties, but also appropriately challenged and empowered to confront them. As Irvin Yalom puts it: 'I'm just trying to remove the obstacles of growth and the rest would follow automatically.' I'm always fascinated by the increased self-awareness and zest for life that comes when clients discover their genuine and most precious self and their life becomes more truthful to themselves and others.
My main interests are issues with identity and belonging, crises due to life changes or losses, bereavement, and the whole range of issues around sexuality and intimate relationships. I work with anxiety, depression, not finding meaning in life, struggling with the lack of or the quality of one's intimate relationships.
I have completed rigorous training at WPF Therapy, one of the leading training institutions in the UK and I have attended numerous courses and Jungian seminars. I hold a PhD in Cultural Anthropology and have an expertise in mythology, fairytales and how cultures and narratives shape our thinking.
I'm interested in giftedness and I'm aware how sensitive and vulnerable gifted people could be. I work with young artists at Royal College of Art and offer reduced rates for students and artists.
