About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP Accredited therapist (adults) also UKCP trained at the Northern Guild of Psychotherapy as a Psychotherapeutic Counseller of Children and Adolescents. I have worked in NHS IAPT, Third Sector agencies such as Cruse Bereavement, BARCA and Primary and Secondary schools as a parent and child therapist. I am BUPA registered. I see young people of secondary school age.

It is important to me that you feel accepted and safe with me at what is most likely a vulnerable time and I work at your pace to build a trusting, confidential relationship. I also encourage self-care in the people I see.

I am a Relational Practitioner and look at how past relationships may be impacting on your present relationships to help you gain greater clarity about current situations. I use elements of more cognitive models to challenge patterns of negative thinking. I have an interest in Poly-Vagal Theory as a way to look at trauma and am trained in the Rewind Technique. I am interested in sand tray work which can be a useful intervention to help those that overthink to access their emotions. I work collaboratively with you to tailor the work to your needs.

You may be at a crossroads in your life, have experienced a life event such as bereavement, redundancy, retirement or be in need of a space to share what you are going through. Maybe you have felt unhappy all of your life and don't know why? These things can be explored safely in therapy to help you understand yourself and your situation better and to get what you want from life.

You can contact me by email or mobile phone. I offer a 15 minute phone call free of charge to discuss your needs and answer any questions you may have. My days of work are Thursdays 12-7, Tuesdays, Wednesdays 9-6 and Fridays 9-2. I see people weekly.

I am currently offering in person sessions  or remote sessions by telephone or Zoom.
