About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Semeyra, a BACP accredited counsellor. Thank you for reading my profile. Reaching out for help is not always easy but by considering counselling you have taken the first important steps towards overcoming the difficulties you may be going through.
In my counselling work, I am able to draw upon the experience and skills gained from over 10 years of working directly with clients going through a range of personal difficulties. As an experienced counsellor, I will be able to work with you to understand your current situation in greater depth and to work together with you to enable you to move forward with your life.
I am very experienced at working with people both short and long term, to make changes in their lives and break free from difficult patterns or repetitive behaviour that might have been holding them back.
In my work with you, I will provide a safe and supportive therapeutic setting, where we can work together to understand the issues that have brought you to counselling and find ways of moving forward.
I have a special interest in working with individuals around relationship issues (including difficult and repetitive relationship patterns, coping with relationship break-ups, difficulties around intimacy) as well as family issues and difficulties related to cultural identity.
As well as my special interests I am also very experienced and able to work with a wide range of other issues including low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, trauma, past abusive experiences, illness.
My original counselling training was integrative and I continue to draw upon different modalities in my counselling work, depending on the needs of each client.
