About me and my therapy practice
I am Caroline Hounsell, an accredited MBACP (Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists) psychotherapist with a profound commitment to assisting individuals and organisations in achieving holistic well-being. My therapeutic journey began in 2006, and since then, I have cultivated extensive experience not only in psychotherapy but also in mental health well-being consultancy, leadership, and instructor training.
At the core of my approach is Person-Centred Psychotherapy, which serves as the foundation of my practice. However, I believe in a holistic and integrative perspective, tailoring my approach to the unique needs of each individual I work with. My practice reflects my unwavering dedication to principles of equality and diversity, which I seamlessly integrate into all aspects of my work.
I have had the privilege of working with diverse individuals and organisations, including Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), Applied Suicide prevention, the Race Equality and Cultural Awareness . My clients have included small, medium and large organisations, children and young people, prison officers, police, primary care trust staff, armed forces personnel, paramedics, council workers, volunteer organisation staff, GPs, social workers, and teachers.
My work also extends to consulting in policy development and risk assessment for corporate and government organisations. Through my philosophy, Lovemind.life, I promote the idea that everyone has the potential to lead a more fulfilled life. I draw inspiration from the pioneering work of Carl Rogers, emphasising the importance of empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard in fostering meaningful relationships.
My approach centres around helping individuals reconnect with their true selves and embrace a life characterised by openness to experiences, existential living, trust in their feelings, creativity, and fulfilment.

While the rate for this session aligns with my standard fees, it serves as a valuable opportunity for us to establish a strong therapeutic foundation. During this session, we will explore your goals, expectations, and specific concerns you'd like to address.
I encourage open and honest communication, as it is vital for us to ensure that our therapeutic partnership is the right fit for you. There won't be any formal assessments; instead, we'll focus on understanding your unique needs and setting the stage for our collaborative work.
In this hour, the spotlight is on you. The outside world's demands and distractions are silenced to provide you with a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space. You are free to express your emotions, whether through tears, laughter, or any other means, as all emotions are welcome here.
