About me and my therapy practice
Due to COVID-19, face to face counselling can be conducted using a large protective, transparent screen, 2 metre distanced seating & hand sanitiser readily available, in line with current government recommendations.
I am an experienced, BACP Accredited Person-Centred Counsellor & Psychotherapist. I have expertise working with anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem & trauma. I also have experience working with a wide range of other issues such as, relationship or family difficulties, depression, self-harm, bereavement, life transitions & personal self-development. I aim to help you understand, manage & overcome whatever the issue is that has brought you to counselling & I offer compassion, genuine acceptance, empathy & a non-judgemental approach to ensure that you feel safe & supported to talk through & explore the difficulties you are facing.
I tailor therapy to your individual needs. This may involve me helping you to explore & manage overwhelming emotions or troubling thoughts, assisting you to identify patterns of behaviour or helping you to challenge & revise longstanding or negative self-beliefs. The aim is that you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your responses to your experiences. I may also use psychoeducation to help you manage physical & mental symptoms of your distress.
From 2012 - 2020 I worked for a well-known local young peoples mental health charity & also a local charity that supports survivors of sexual, emotional & physical abuse. With both organisations I worked as a counsellor with adults, young people and families.
I work from a Private & tranquil purpose-built counselling room on the outskirts of Norwich with ample free parking. I offer a discounted 1 hour assessment session to provide an opportunity for you to get a sense of how I work & to decide if I am the right counsellor for you. I work with young adults (18yrs +) & adults.
My first session
In that first assessment session, we will meet to discuss what brings you to therapy & address any questions or concerns you might have. The initial assessment session is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of how I work & to decide if I am the right counsellor for you. If you decide to continue, we can then arrange a regular time & day of the week that works for you. The assessment session last for 1 hour & is £40.
Individual therapy is £45 for 1 hour.
