About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Counsellor with over 13 years experience, offering a face to face and remote sessions. I also offering walk and talk sessions.
You may be clear about your goals for counselling or perhaps you are unsure but that’s fine too. Sometimes by just having a space to be heard could help you to get to the bottom of what it is you may want to change. Sessions with me are warm open and free from judgement; I work in a way that helps you to gain a better understanding of yourself.
I can work with a broad range of interpersonal issues (with family, friends, partners) and PTSD/Complex PTSD, Work Related Stress issues, Anxiety, Depression, Anger, Bereavement/Survivors of Suicide Loss, Child Sexual Abuse, Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence, and Parenting Issues to include Parenting Ambivalence.
In addition to my private practice, I work as a sessional counsellor for an organisation supporting Women and Girls impacted by Sexual Violence.
I have also worked as a bereavement counselling volunteer where I gained valuable experience supporting clients struggling with grief and loss.
Please call or email me to arrange a no obligation chat or to arrange an initial consultation.
Practice description
Face to Face:
I offer sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings at my private practice based in Highbury and Islington. I am located within walking distance of the station. Covid -19 measures are in place to mitigate any risk with this way of working.
Remote/Online sessions:
I offer sessions over Zoom or Telephone on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Walk and Talk Sessions:
I am offering sessions outdoors for clients who may prefer this way of engaging with therapy. These sessions are currently available on Mondays and Tuesdays during the day.
My first session
This session is considered an initial consultation and follows our brief telephone chat.
Prior to our appointment, I will forward copies of my agreement/terms, privacy statement and covid-19 measures (if applicable). These documents are for information purposes only at this stage.
My hope for this session is that you able to get more of a sense of me and of how we might work together on the issues that are important to you.
I will introduce myself and answer any questions you may have about my way of working, my qualifications, experience and anything else you may need to know about working with me.
When you are a little more settled, I will take a brief history of the issues you are struggling with, your hopes for therapy and complete an assessment of any risks I may need to be aware of. I take some very brief notes during initial session only.
On conclusion of the session, I tend to suggest taking some time before getting in touch with a decision on whether you want to continue working with me.
