About me and my therapy practice
A warm welcome to you. I help busy overwhelmed people from multicultural backgrounds to reduce and manage stress, burnout and anxiety. I'm originally from Sweden, but I've lived and worked most of my adult life abroad (the UK and Hong Kong).
As a Counsellor I would assist you to manage stress originating from various sources; relocation, work, studies, parenting, relationships, etc. through an integrative approach acquiring coping techniques and strategies so you can feel more on top of things. Together we might also explore and identify what's really important to you, in order to bring more meaning into your life.
I'm trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy that both are quite practical therapy approaches. Although we will touch on the past, the focus is more on supporting change in the here and now and I will use the most suitable approach for the issues you're going through.
I have a Master in Counselling degree from Monash University and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Stockholm University with many years of experience working with multicultural individuals in Hong Kong. My professional background is based in Human Resources in various organisations before retraining to become a Counsellor.
