About me and my therapy practice
My name is Antony Constantinou. I am a Psychotherapist and couples counsellor working from my consulting room in Wandsworth, located footsteps away from Putney rail station. I also work online on Skype, Zoom and Teams.
I studied In Psychodynamic Counselling at London’s Birkbeck College University and then went on to train In Integrative counselling at Middlesex University. I undertook further training at Tavistock and Portman in Psychodynamic psychotherapy and completed training in couples counselling at the Surrey counselling training.
After extensive experience within the NHS, charity, and private sector, I established myself in private practice.
I continue to train and commit to continuous personal development to keep up with the code of ethics set by the BACP. I then undertook many pieces of training such as psychodynamic clinical assessment, drug and alcohol abuse, anxiety and depression and personality disorders.
I have worked in the Wandsworth and Fulham area for over four years, meeting with people from all walks of life. Before this, I established my practice in the Covent Garden area of London, where I met with people who worked from the city and beyond. In addition to my clinical work in private practice, I provide professional consultation, group counselling and health assessments within the private sector.
Practice description
Why Counselling and Psychotherapy?
People decide to come to therapy with me for a variety of reasons. Sometimes they are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, lack of confidence or are simply feeling stuck. In other situations, they are grieving the loss of a loved one or are struggling with a traumatic event.
Often, people want to learn new ways to manage their stress. This is especially true during periods of change and transition in their lives, such as marriage, pregnancy, parenting, moving, divorce, change of career, illness, and other major life moments.
My first session
The initial consultation
The initial consultation is the first step you will make when contacting me. This is to help you have a clearer idea of what you are looking for, what the various therapies are, or even whether a talking therapy is right for you.
Sometimes it can even be hard to know what is wrong or whether your concerns are valid. The consultation will support me in understanding you and the best possible path forward through Psychodynamic exploration and assessment.

Key steps include identifying unhealthy, repetitive patterns and making connections with early life experiences. This will enable you to make positive changes and healthy decisions, reinforcing your strength and confidence.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists who have an interest in developing a psychodynamic understanding of their clinical work on a one-to-one basis.
Practice description
My approach to clinical supervision draws from psychodynamic theories and principles. It involves a dynamic and reflective process where I aim to guide and support you in exploring the therapeutic relationship's unconscious functions, emotions, transference, and countertransference dynamics.
Through in-depth discussions, case reviews, and exploration of inner experiences, I will encourage your self-awareness, deepen your understanding of client dynamics, and promote effective interventions. I aim to focus on your personal development while helping you navigate emotional responses and biases and fostering a deeper understanding of how these factors can influence the therapeutic process. Ultimately, psychodynamic supervision contributes to the counsellor's growth, skill refinement, and the delivery of more nuanced and insightful interventions.
