About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to Helen Jane Psychotherapy and Counselling.
Are feelings of anxiety or low mood affecting your everyday or work life? Are you feeling trapped by the past or worried about relationships? Talking to a qualified psychotherapist can provide you with valuable time to gain greater self-acceptance, learn skills in coping with emotions and help to “lift a weight from your shoulders”. I provide an empathic environment where you can share your thoughts, feelings and concerns in an honest and non-judgmental way.
I am a BACP registered psychotherapist with experience in working with both adults and children. After over 20 Years of experience working in education, I retrained to gain a postgraduate diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and I am currently studying towards a Master’s Degree.
I use a person-centred integrative therapy approach which means you decide on what you want to talk about and I support you in exploring issues through building trust between us and offering appropriate interventions, such as mindfulness, and new perspectives aiming to enable you to move forward.
My first session
After an initial phone conversation to arrange a mutually agreeable time and date, your first session will be free and will last about 20 minutes. It is an opportunity to outline what you are expecting from therapy and I will explain in more detail what the therapy is like. If you decide that it is for you, then we can arrange a set of weekly sessions as needed.
