About me and my therapy practiceI offer therapy that is integrative and flexible, drawing on systemic, CBT, motivational interviewing and solution focused brief therapy as well as incorporating Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy in to my work particularly for depression, stress and substance misuse related client issues. My approach is respectful, warm, accepting and non-judgemental, helping clients to realise and access their own strengths, resources and solutions and recognise that change is possible through their strengths.
I have considerable training and experience in working with survivors of sexual abuse, domestic violence, depression, anxiety, drug and alcohol issues, fertility issues, relationship and couples work. I also worked for 18 years as student counsellor at the Royal Welsh college of Music and Drama they present with with a wide range of issues.
I have worked with many employee assisted programmes during the last 18 years including local authorities, NHS and South Wales Police. During the past 9 years I have run 8 week Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy course for prevention of relapse in to depression and substance misuse, anxiety and well-being.
