About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling hopeless, depressed, overwhelmed or anxious? Are there relationships in your life that you find difficult to handle? Do you feel stuck and can’t seem to see a way forward? Are you feeling lonely despite being surrounded with people because it’s difficult to open up to them? Perhaps you have already talked to someone but you felt belittled, dismissed, or not truly heard/understood? Maybe you just want to understand your circumstances, yourself and those around you. I want you to know that you do not have to go through this alone. You matter and what you are feeling is important. You are worth listening to and being cared for. By considering counselling, you have already taken the courageous first step towards healing and change.

As a qualified Integrative Counsellor, I use a variety of techniques, modalities and tools to come up with a tailor-made approach to your unique needs. Specifically, I draw methods and interventions from Psychodynamic, Person-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral approaches through the Relational Integrative Model. I place high value in the quality of the therapeutic relationship—ensuring that it is characterized by empathy, genuineness, and unconditional acceptance. As your counsellor, I will listen to you and provide you with a safe and therapeutic environment where you can be yourself without fear of judgment. I will be respectful of your thoughts, feelings and beliefs and we will explore these together at your own pace. Be it a present issue or unresolved pain from the past, I will support you and work collaboratively with you in every step you take toward recovery. The aim is for you to grow in self-awareness and ultimately, to empower you to independently deal with your issues. This is based on the belief that you already have the solution within yourself and I will serve as but a guide who will help you uncover this, move forward in life, and unlock your potential for growth, development and personal change.

Practice description

Clinical Experience:

I have worked successfully with hundreds of clients from a wide range of backgrounds within the following clinical settings (both in the UK and abroad):

  • multi-disciplinary clinics
  • hospitals and private healthcare institutions
  • non-profit/charity counselling organisations
  • private practice (face-to-face and distance therapy)

Main Counselling Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Integrative Counselling (Distinction)
  • Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Psychology (First Class Honours)

My first session

What to expect from the intake session: The first session is an opportunity for you to ask any questions and for me to further explain how I work. We will discuss the counselling contract (basic parameters within which we will work together) and you will also share more about your background and what has brought you to therapy.

How to book: Kindly leave me a message via the contact form with a brief overview of your concerns, any preference you might have regarding the schedule (i.e., the time of day and/or day of the week you can potentially allocate for regular therapy sessions), and preferred mode of therapy (e.g., face-to-face or online); and I will get back to you with the spaces available in my diary that suit your preferences as soon as possible. 

Session Duration: 50 minutes per session (standard therapy hour)

Typical Arrangement: Individual (one-on-one) Talk Therapy

Cost (this applies to all sessions, including the intake session):

  • £60.00 per session for private adult clients based in the UK
  • £45.00 for counselling/psychotherapy trainees (i.e., students required by their course to complete a specific number of personal therapy hours)
  • Please note: If you are an international/overseas client seeking distance therapy, a different rate may apply depending on where you are based.

Therapy Concessions: I offer therapy at a discounted price for those who are facing financial difficulties but want to reach out and improve their mental health. You also have the option to meet with me fortnightly if this will be more affordable for you. In line with this, please feel free to let me know if you will benefit from this arrangement for any of the following reasons:

  • You come from a low-income background and find regular therapy sessions to be inaccessible
  • You are a self-funding student or unemployed, and the regular costs of therapy are too prohibitive
  • You have many expenses, and you cannot find good therapy options within your budget
