About me and my therapy practice
FACE TO FACE ~ ONLINE ~ TELEPHONE
Are you struggling with anxiety, worry, fear, depression, difficult relationships, low self-esteem, stress, trauma or bereavement? Perhaps your GP has suggested you have counselling?
I offer a trusting, empathic, supportive therapeutic space, and a place which is safe for clients to explore and understand their emotions, feelings, behaviours and experiences without judgement.
Our work to help you feel better, is led by your needs, because you know how you are feeling, and the most important person in our therapy is you; the client.
The issues I have named are some of the areas within which I work, but please contact me if you are not sure, or would like an initial chat.
In addition to private counselling I volunteer for the charity CRUSE (Bereavement counselling) and previously worked with CAMHS (Specialising in Children and Adolescent Counselling and Family Therapy).

I offer short and longer term therapy, single session therapy, blocks of 6 weeks, or ongoing. Sessions can be booked weekly, fortnightly or ad hoc, and can be face to face, online, or combination of both.
My first session
Prior to the first session I send out some paperwork for you to read and complete. This gives you information about our counselling sessions, and it gives me some basic information about you. It also gives you the opportunity to call me or email if there is anything that you want more information on or explaining.
Having done this in advance means that at the first session we are able to spend the time talking about you, your feelings, situation, thoughts etc. as well as what you are hoping to gain from sessions. It means that in the first session you can be truly heard, rather than having to listen to me cover basic information.
The first session is also an opportunity to see if you feel comfortable working with me. It's really important, because you need to sense that you can trust me, and feel that I empathise with you.
