About me and my therapy practice
My method is Integrative counselling. It means that working with me - we are not bound to one theoretical approach or method. Perhaps you have heard or had Cognitive Behavioural therapy or undergone Psychoanalysis; together we can explore those options and find the way that fits you the best at this particular time. I believe that you are an independent, unique universe and will work having this principle in mind.
My practice is Diverse, and it began with multicultural clients, but I realised that the Difference is both much deeper and much wider. This area is important for me; I work with neurodiversity, carers, physical disabilities, gender and age. I believe every person should be able to access a professional mental health practitioner, and will always make the reasonable adjustments to meet my clients’ needs.
I am committed to the BACP values, have undergone in depth professional training (Integrative Counselling), and strive to keep up with news in the mental health area. My aim is to support you in building stronger, more compassionate and self aware You. I hope that in due process you will be able to be proud of who you are, where you have come from and be able to pass that over to others.
My first session
You may have had therapy before, or this is your first time. I appreciate this is an important decision for you take up on. There may be things you are concerned with, and some have to fall into places before you can access the place from where the change can start. First session is for us to address some of your questions, get to meet and make the therapy more of reality than some mysterious concept.
We will talk about safety and confidentiality. This may something new for you (if you never had therapy before), and it could help you to better understand what is a therapeutic relationship and what can you expect from me.
At the end of the first session, we should come up with a plan: when and how often do we meet, do you want to address a specific issue you struggle with or feel need to explore and strengthen yourself.
The first session is half-price, and payable only when you decide to start therapy with me.
