About me and my therapy practice

I offer solutions focused therapy. Which is access to professional support at a time when anxiety, stress, depression, grief and/or low self-esteem may feel amplified or when your usual coping strategies just aren't enough.

My approach works hard to understand the many layers of your life that maybe causing tension, distress or suffering. This includes the relationship with yourself and others so you can identify the choice points within these struggles. Essentially, it is a chance to slow things down, to focus on what matters to you in your life and from there make changes that take you towards the life you want to live.

Making the first step and seeking help can be daunting but working with the right counsellor can be transformative.

If any of the following statements strike a chord, then the talking therapy I offer could work for you,

  1. life feels like a constant struggle and you feel stuck, you feel alone and on a different wavelength to others
  2.  The present moment is lost and you feel distracted by unresolved issues and feelings linked to the past
  3.  The record is stuck and there is endless mind chatter causing tension
  4.  Unhealthy patterns of behaviour leave you feeling knocked off course.
If the answer is yes to any of these, I offer you the chance to explore with me the thoughts, feelings and behaviours at the root of the issues. Together, we will work at your pace to identify where you want to be and what will help you get there.

Practice description

My therapy room is located in Prestwich, 3 miles outside of Manchester city centre. It is accessible by bus and tram and close to junction 17 and 19 of the M60 motorway.

In line with the government guidelines, measures are in place to reopen safely during coronavirus.

Additional information

My back ground covers many years working within a corporate environment for multinational companies which means I have many reference points for work related stress, burn out, anxiety and depression. As well as an awareness of the how it shapes identity and the tensions that can arise from the complex relationship systems with management, colleagues, friends and family.

I have also undergone training to identify and work with the issues linked to lockdown and coronavirus such as loss, panic, grief, sadness, anxiety, stress from work, redundancy and/or financial difficulties.

My specialist interest is supporting those working through issues related to alcohol and/or drugs. This can also be your own experience or living with a close relationship impacted by addiction. I use my knowledge and experience from recovery counselling to support the multiple aspects of change and moving towards a better life.

If you decide to go ahead the first session is half price £20. During which we will discuss in more detail how we can work together and the areas to focus on.
