About me and my therapy practice

Hello and welcome,

My name is Kayan. I am an integrative counsellor and registered member of the BACP. I am also currently in the process of completing an MA in integrative psychotherapy.

I understand that approaching me for therapy can be a daunting prospect or it might be the start of an exciting new chapter, I want to assure you wherever you are in this process, I will help guide you through it.

On offer from me is a safe and confidential space from which to explore your life and the reasons you have come for therapy, I am very much led by you and tailor my approach to your individual needs. I work in an integrative-relational style which means I use a variety of different approaches to support my work. Ultimately, I believe healing takes place in relationship, when you can feel safe with me to explore your innermost self without judgment.

How counselling can help?

It is extremely rare to find someone that will genuinely listen to you, maybe someone is not listening or distracted, maybe someone is waiting for their turn to talk. Therapy with me is a space to feel heard and understood. Together we can begin to take a look at your life and the issues you may be experiencing, this may require us to go back into the past, it also may require us to examine what’s happening between us in the here and now. Doing this work together will enable greater self-knowledge and understanding.

Practice description

I am currently working online. I am also exploring returning to in-person work in London Bridge.

Sessions are 50 minutes at the same time each week.

My first session

I offer a free ten-minute initial call, to briefly get to know each other and arrange an assessment. If I feel I can’t help at that point I will be honest and support you in accessing the right service or refer you to a colleague.

The first session is an opportunity for both of us to get to know each other and see if we are a good fit, it is a chance for you to also asses me and see if I am what you are looking for. The first session may also be called an assessment session and I may try to get a sense of your history and reasons for coming to therapy.

Towards the end of the session I may check in with you about how the session has gone and see if you would like to book in a second one.

What I can help with
