About me and my therapy practice
I am a registered BACP therapist and fully qualified person centred counsellor. I have 10 +years of experience working with adults and young people.
I offer short term or open ended integrative counselling. I am committed to offering you a non- judgemental safe, confidential space to be heard. I have worked with clients with a vast range of issues from anxiety disorders, trauma to relationship/family issues and general stresses of life.
I have a strong belief in therapy being for everyone not only those who consider themselves to be at crisis point. Life can be complex at times and we all could benefit from having that support in our corner to simply listen without judgement. Regardless of your current situation or difficulty I am committed to warmly supporting you in working towards your desired goals.
How can therapy help ?
Do you struggle with feelings of anxiety self doubt and unable to switch off unwanted thoughts?
Do you ever feel yourself stuck , feel a loss of direction or caught in a negative cycle and low mood?
Are you finding relationships within your life difficult to navigate?
Are these difficulties causing obstacles and preventing you from moving towards you’re desired goals or the life you truly deserve?
If you feel you can relate to the above statements making the first step in accessing therapy could greatly benefit you in moving forward in a positive way.
Therapy has many benefits. Having someone impartial to offer a safe confidential space to be heard and understood is invaluable. Therapy allows you to gain better understanding of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and empowers you to explore new ways of thinking
My overall aim is to ensure you are heard and valued whilst working towards developing a better understanding of yourself.
My main focus is to gain an understanding of your needs and offer you the space to explore any thoughts, feelings or life situations that you may be finding difficult. Whilst working towards the best possible solution for you to move forward.
I work as an integrative person centred counsellor which allows me to use techniques from other therapeutic models such as; Person Centred therapy, CBT and Solution focused therapy. Using various tools tailored to you allows you to develop better coping strategies which will help towards building confidence and emotional resilience around the presenting issues.
My first session
I believe finding the right therapist is one of the most important parts of counselling which is why I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation before the first session. This allows you the chance to ask any questions you may have and discuss what it is you would hope to gain from having therapy.
This is also an opportunity for to get an idea if I am the right therapist for you. If you feel happy to continue we can arrange an initial first session and gently progress from there.
Our first session we will briefly discuss the confidentiality contract which will be emailed to you prior to our session. We will use the first session to gently get to know one another, I may ask you your reasons for wanting to start therapy.
I am mindful that accessing therapy can be daunting bearing this in mind my goal is to ensure your first session will be as comfortable as possible. It is completely normal to feel nervous I know this being someone who has benefited from therapy and coaching in the past.
Alternatively I am more than happy to answer any questions via email.
