About me and my therapy practice

During the coronavirus outbreak, I am particularly supporting clients to develop resilience, deal with anxiety and stress, and manage isolation. I am supporting people who are at home alone or with partners and families where social isolation is causing additional pressure. I am supporting those who are working, especially in high-stress occupations, including doctors and consultants, charity execs, those in key industries and organisations working to defeat and/or minimise the problems caused by coronavirus, as well as those leading or working within businesses where there is particular pressure at the present time.

I am a warm and thoughtful person, and I am a psychotherapist, counsellor and executive coach. I also work with writers in my business, Gale & Co. My specialties are: relationships; work and career; self-esteem; creativity; anxiety and stress; conflict and anger management; illness; bereavement, loss and grief; couples counselling; sexuality and sexual identity; LGBTQ+; disability; childhood sexual abuse; metaphor and dreams. I work with couples and with individuals.

Psychotherapy and counselling can support people in crisis; and give us all an opportunity to look at our lives and consider changes we might like to make. Even at the most challenging times, we can maintain or recover our sense of aliveness, satisfaction and joy; and become more self-aware, developing richer, more fulfilling relationships. With a supportive psychotherapist or counsellor, couples can find ways through the difficulties of loving relationships, or be supported to separate amicably and constructively.

I began my career in book publishing, working as an editor, in marketing and senior management. I have been Editorial Director of Pan Macmillan, Marketing Director of Simon & Schuster and Joint Managing Director of The Women's Press. I founded Gale & Co to develop my work with writers and I am co-founder and co-director of the executive coaching organisation, Working Edge.
