About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to my profile. Whether this is your first time seeking therapy or a position you have been in before, it can be a bit daunting contacting someone new and unknown. To help with this, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Lewis Gains, an experienced therapist who offers you a safe space to speak about whatever it is you wish to bring, without judgement.
You may have specific goals in mind, or you may wish to simply speak and see how things go. What is important is that you have made this step to get to here.
I have experience working in numerous areas, which include; Bereavement, depression, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, family difficulties, cultural difficulties and all round life challenges.
I work in an Integrative way, which means I use different approaches, depending on what will work best for you and our sessions. It could be exploring and working with your past and past relationships with a psychodynamic approach. It could be CBT techniques to deal with situations in the here and now.
This can all be discussed in our sessions, which could be at the beginning or as we move through this journey.
My first session
It is important that you feel comfortable and at ease when starting to work with a therapist, it can be daunting open up to someone you don't know.
With this in mind, I offer a free 20 minute consultation. During this consultation we would have an open conversation, which would allow you to speak at a surface level of what it is that has you seeking therapy. It would also allow me to speak about who I am and what I can offer to you. Importantly, we can discuss how we both feel about working together and how this may look going forward and if its something we are both happy to do.
Following this, it gives us a chance to schedule sessions in the future and what this can look like for the both of us.
