It is important to me that my practice remains small and personal as this allows me to respond promptly to enquires for counselling and to see clients at a short notice face to face, online or on over the telephone

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you are wondering if counselling may be helpful for you, and we can talk about whether I would be the most appropriate person to support you.

About me and my therapy practice

I first became interested in becoming a counsellor when I was working as a hospital social worker.  I soon realised that patients recovery depended on having the opportunity to talk about how they were feeling as well as receiving practical care.

I went on to obtain my Advanced Diploma in Counselling. The approach taught was predominantly Psychodynamic. However, over time I have developed a more Integrated/Person Centred approach to my work.

I have a vast experience, in both my professional and personal life  of supporting Adults ,Couples and Families with many issues which occur for us all as a part of our everyday lives. This includes working in  Child Care, Children with Disability and Fostering

Practice description

I offer both short term and long term counselling depending on the individual need.

I am able to offer support to Individuals experiencing:

- Loss and Bereavement

- Relationship Issues

- Employment Issues

- Family Issues

- Caring for someone with an Illness of Disability.

Prior to commencing our work the client and myself would sign a written contract in line with BACP requirements for Counselling and Therapy.

My first session

If you decide to contact me we can talk about what you are requiring on the telephone, if we decide to meet, we would arrange an intial session. We would then be able to talk face to face/online. If we both feel it would meet your needs for us to continue to work together, we would agree a counselling plan and agree a written contract to suit your needs and committments. I usually suggest people see me for 4 - 6 weeks and we can then review the progress of our work together.
