About me and my therapy practice

Hello and Welcome.

I understand that from time to time we can all feel the need of some help and support with emotional issues. My profile will tell you all about me and how I can work with you, helping you to find inner calm and restore balance in your life through counselling and psychotherapy.

I am an experienced BACP accredited counsellor beginning my career twelve years ago as a volunteer at Dayspring in Garforth, Talking Spaces in Harrogate and at the Just B, a Harrogate bereavement service.

Since then I have developed my private practice, working with clients of all ages on many varied and diverse issues, whilst also working for several Employment Assisted Programmes (EAPs), providing over 10,000 clinical hours of therapy.

Each one of us is unique, diverse and special. I can offer counselling which integrates several approaches, tailoring the therapy to suit your needs in the best possible way.

There are many reasons why you might feel anxious and confused. You may find that past events or current affairs are affecting you. Your relationships may be causing tension, making you feel lonely and sad. You may be struggling with bereavement issues.

Each one of us has the capacity within ourselves to find a calmer more fulfilling way to live our life, but that some help may be needed along the way.

I strongly believe that the trusting, confidential relationship developed between the counsellor and the client is one of the most important factors in creating a successful outcome, enabling the client to feel empowered and in control.

I can see you in a welcoming, comfortable and private space offering you the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings in confidence.

Practice description

My counselling therapy sessions provide an opportunity to explore and begin to analyse what is going on in your life.

This process will help you to understand what you are thinking and feeling, making sense of your experiences.

I will share this journey with you, enabling you to find a new way of looking at things and giving you the insight and confidence to make any changes.

My therapy sessions are non-judgemental. I am a good listener being understanding and empathic.

I am happy to offer long and short term face to face therapy, as well as online counselling and telephone counselling.
