About me and my therapy practice
If you are struggling with difficult emotions counselling can help you to get things off your chest. Talking about negative thoughts and feelings can enable you to find better ways of dealing with your situation and reduce anxiety levels. Therapy can support your recovery from anxiety, depression or an addiction by helping you to understand the underlying issues and developing your strengths. Living with an addiction and anxiety can be very stressful and battling with uncontrollable feelings can feel relentless. As part of my therapeutic programme I offer cognitive behavioural therapy which can help to break the upsetting cycles of anxiety, depression and addiction. Cognitive therapy develops alternative ways of thinking and behaving which can help to reduce emotional distress. I integrate the practices of mindfulness which fosters a non-judgemental and compassionate approach towards ourselves and our experiences. Mindful awareness is a powerful tool that can help reduce anxiety and the negative emotions that increase stress and trigger cravings. I have worked for over 25 years in the field of mental wellbeing supporting people with a range of emotional difficulties. I am therefore highly experienced working with problematic and sensitive issues. I work closely and in collaboration with my client’s to create bespoke recovery plans which address their individual needs. Your hopes and fears can be expressed in order to work towards your personal goals. If you would like to try without the commitment, I offer the introductory session at a reduced rate of £80. This will allow you to meet with me and see if I may be someone you feel comfortable to work with.
