I have current availability within my practice. I am happy to work flexibility to meet clients needs regarding session times where my availability allows.
I endevour to respond to emails, texts or voicemails within 24 hours, unless on a weekend to which I will reply on a Monday.
About me and my therapy practice
I work within a person-centred capacity but integrate other modalities also. I believe you know yourself the best, your needs and your wants. I provide a compassionate and non-judgemental listening space where your experiences and feelings will be respected and validated. My passion is longer term work, exploring how child experiences and family structures influence how you may be living your life today. Exploring personal belief systems and values that may govern day to day living as well as work, family and personal relationships, all of which impact the quality of life experienced.
Exploring and taking ownership and accountability of the life we want to live, shedding unhealthy expectation of, the conditions of, and the judgements of others clearing the way for an authentic life, being exactly who we were meant to be.
I can offer both remote video and face to face session depending upon your preference. I work visually, so I work best by seeing my clients which is why I do not provide telephone counselling. However I am happy to provide initial telephone counselling to work towards remote or face to face if you feel uncomfortable initially with video counselling. I work in a relaxed and down to earth way. I will always have a cup of coffee by my side and if seeing me face to face you will always be offered a drink too. I also offer an free initial 1/2 hour consulation by telephone, so you are able to bring your reasons for wanting counselling (which you may not be aware of initially) and any questions you may have. I provide weekly session either long term or in 6 weekly blocks for clients who prefer shorter term counselling. This can be reviewed at any time and be extended if required.
My first session
After contacting me, we will arrange a 1/2 telephone appointment. I will email you a Counselling Agreement outlining the counselling relationship to create a safe and mutually agreeable relationship from the very start of counselling.
In the first session I invite out to tell me more about your reasons for wanting counselling, what counselling looks like for you and your expectations of it and what you hope to gain. I will invite you to complete an Emotional Wellbeing Form. This helps both of us to better undertand the your areas of possible needs and also provide an opportunity to discuss areas and answers which may you may not have been aware of before.
The first session is information gathering and an opportunity for you to talk about what is troubling you.
