About me and my therapy practice

As of 19th March 2020 most of the UK has gone into lockdown, in response to Covid-19. We are currently facing an unprecedented time. Anxiety and fear will be present. These are appropriate feelings in times of uncertainty. First and foremost, we all need to look after ourselves and our immune systems. I have from 19.3.20 transferred my practice online via Zoom/Skype or phone, and can be contacted via email for an initial session. I am also available in Brighton/Hove for outdoor 'walk/talk' sessions weather permitting.

I have experience in working with anxiety, depression, loneliness, loss, issues around relationships (self/other), life transitions and questions around identity. I am trauma informed.

My message to anyone reading this who is feeling anxious around Covid-19; Take time to enjoy the small gifts you have access to in the here and now; A cup of warm tea, a ray of sunlight, a trickle of rain water sliding down a window pane, a walk in nature, the ability to follow your breath in and out. Monitor any excessive time spent on 'news' channels and social media. When we learn how to calm our internal systems, we can find the strength and wisdom to move forward, whatever challenge we face.

My work as a Psychotherapist is informed by an Integrative approach. This means I work with the inherent value of each individual. It is a conversational, holistic process which considers the whole person and not just their symptoms. There are many different models and approaches. I am interested in finding out, what works for you. This is discussed in the first or second session, you decide if you wish to continue from there.

I am registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and abide by their codes of practice and ethics.

While counselling is not a cure, I believe that the work that we do together can be potentially life changing.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer a confidential and easy-going space to reflect and get a handle on whatever difficulty you are facing.

I work sensitively with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, bereavement, questions around identity, sexuality, addiction & recovery, and life transitions.

My Integrative approach embraces an attitude that affirms the unique value of each individual. It is non-judgmental, empathic and effective in exploring emotional, behavioural, mental and physical life states.

Simply put, it is a holistic, weekly, conversational process that considers the whole person, not just their symptoms.
