About me and my therapy practice
Hi, My name is Marion and I am an experienced Integrative Counsellor. Choosing the right therapist for yourself or a young person can sometimes feel overwhelming and so it’s helpful to tell you a little bit about myself and the therapy I offer.
I provide a warm, empathic and non-judgemental approach, working with both young people and adults. My ability to build authentic trusting relationships, is key to creating a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.
Practice description
At present, I deliver an online counselling service, although I am sometimes able for visit homes and other settings in certain circumstances.
I combine different therapeutic approaches such as person centred, transactional analysis, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and DBT (dialectical behavioural therapy) to support clients who may feel low in mood, anxious, are experiencing difficult thoughts, neglecting or harming themselves. I work with individuals who are impacted by significant or traumatic life events such as loss, bereavement, bullying and abuse, or want to explore themselves and their life experiences further, such as relationships, school/work difficulties, identity, disability and neurodivergence.
It is important to me that my practice is both neurodivergent and gender/sexuality diversity affirming, so that the therapy I offer is accessible. With this is mind I welcome feedback from my clients.
Alongside my private practice, I work as a counsellor within a specialist therapeutic service. I also offer talking therapy at a secondary school, and work for a service offering therapeutic and practical support for neurodivergent individuals and families.
Prior to become a qualified counsellor, I worked for the NHS and privately for many years as an Occupational Therapist. This compliments my inclusive and diverse therapeutic approach.
