About me and my therapy practice

Hello,

I understand how difficult it can be making that first contact to enquire about counselling. I would really like to help you. I offer a gentle and compassionate therapy space for you to explore the reasons that have bought you to counselling now. You may have an idea of what you would like help with or you might just feel like something feels ‘off’, you may feel you would like a place to talk about something that you are struggling with. You may be feeling stuck, or off balance, you may have lost a sense of who you are.

I can help you discover your unhelpful patterns that perhaps are showing up in your life, to bring more connection to your relationship with yourself or with others or to help you improve the quality of your life by discovering inner resources that you may not have noticed before.

Practice description

My approach is rooted in unconditional positive regard, empathy and genuineness. I offer a Humanistic Gestalt approach which respects you as an individual it helps us to gain awareness and understanding of the issue you may be facing, this awareness can lead to feeling more in control.   We can look at the past and how that is playing out in the 'here and now', what patterns have been created, that might seem at first difficult to change or adapt and perhaps look at what values are driving you, where they came from and do they need updating.   I work creatively, adapting to your individual needs, giving time and space to honour your unique experience.

I have experience working for various counselling organisations and charities and also the NHS as a children and young persons counsellor. During this time I have worked extensively with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, miscarriage and baby loss, fertility issues, relationship issues, bereavement and grief, identity issues. I also have a special interest in neurodivergence.

I am committed to my professional development and ethical responsibilities. I regularly complete additional training.

In accordance with my Professional Body’s requirements, my work is professionally supervised and insured.

My first session

I offer a free 20 minute ‘discovery call’ where we can have a chat about your reasons for seeking out counselling and where you and I get to see if I could be the right counsellor for you.

Opening up to someone about your feelings and worries is not easy so it is important that you feel comfortable and respected.

You can email me to enquire or book a discovery call.

We can work online, meaning you can be anywhere in the UK, accessing counselling or, I also can offer a few face to face appointments in Oban.
