About me and my therapy practice

The fact that you’re reading this probably means that you are considering whether counselling could help you. I know from experience that it takes courage to take that first step and reach out to someone. I work with you as an individual, because each of us has our own story, and together we can identify how best to work together.  They may be present day concerns or from the past. I can help you make healthier choices, feel better about yourself, take back control of your life. We sometimes spend so much time looking after others, that we forget who we really are or what our own needs are.  I believe every person has the inner strength and the solutions to their own problems. We just sometimes need a bit of help to find them. I am passionate about my work believe that the relationship between client and counsellor is at the heart of the counselling process; and I can offer an environment where you can explore these concerns in your own time.

About me and my therapy practice

I tailor my work to the individual counsellor's needs, using a combination of different models including Hawkins & Shohet, Page & Wosket, and Inskipp & Proctor.  My own counselling training was primarily person centred, but encompassed CBT and TA amongst others.  I am experienced with working with both adults and children.  I would prefer to work via Zoom currently but am open to face-to-face within Government guidelines.

Practice description

I would like to think that I work collaboratively with supervisees in a supportive role.  I also believe that the relationship between supervisee and supervisor is key in order to work effectively.

My first session

1- We provisionally agree on a date / time and you choose how you'd like to connect.   If working via Zoom it is important to make sure you are comfortable and not over-heard and as far as possible free from interruptions, and you have a good internet connection.

2- You download Zoom.us free from the internet, which is a recognised and encrypted platform.

3- I will require your fee at least 24 hours before the agreed date. Once your payment has gone through, the date is confirmed and the link sent.

4- On the agreed day / time, we meet online for the agreed session length.
