About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor specialising in Person Centred Therapy, which focusses on you, the individual, and Solution Focussed Therapy.
I believe that every person has the innate ability to realise their full potential and live their best life. With the right help, you can control your choices and interactions and reach a higher level of self-awareness and self-empowerment.
Making the decision to come for counselling can be a daunting experience. Most people will feel anxious making the initial contact and attending the first appointment. To help with this, I provide a free, 30 minute phone consultation. This is an opportunity for you to share with me your expectations and goals from counselling. You can ask questions and find out more about the services available and you can decide if counselling is right for you at this time.
I provide a safe, non-judgemental, confidential environment in which to explore how to take back control of your life and develop a healthier means of coping.
As we progress with therapy, we will do regular reviews around your initial goals and how you you feel about your progress. At this point, we re-evaluate your goals and agree a way forward.
The time is for you to use as you wish. It is your space to help you achieve your best hopes of each session.
I believe that face-to-face counselling is most beneficial to clients, however, in response to Covid19, counselling services and online therapy services can also be accessed online through Zoom sessions or on the telephone. I also ensure a Covid safe environment according to government guidelines. The Covid policy can be accessed on my website.
My first session
The first session is 50 minutes long. We will start by going through the contract together to confirm that you understand each of our commitment's and to give you the opportunity to ask any further questions you might have thought of since the consultation. Then we will complete an assessment of your needs, which we will refer back to when we do reviews.
Throughout the session, you will be encouraged to verbalise what differences you would like the session to make in your life and how you could most benefit from our time together.
