About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist with over 10 year's experience.  I offer both individual and couples counselling at my private practice in Leicester city centre or online.

I help you with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, bereavement, trauma and survivors of the boarding school experience amongst other difficulties.  If you are struggling with an emotional difficulty I've not listed, it doesn't mean I can't help.  Just contact me and we can take it from there.

Practice description

In counselling, we work together to explore those emotional issues that have been affecting your life, your work, your relationships. Those issues affecting your feelings, thoughts and the things that you do. Our work together takes place in a confidential, supportive, non-judgemental 'therapeutic relationship' where together we can work through and resolve those personal problems that can make life so difficult.

For those of you who are counselling/psychotherapy students, my core training is psychodynamic.  However, I do integrate other ways of thinking and working where it seems relevant.

Our initial meeting costs £25 for up to 50 minutes. If we agree to continue, my fees are £50 per weekly 50 minute session for individual therapy and £60 for couples.

My first session

The first session is an initial consultation costing just £25. It lasts up to 50 minutes and gives us a chance to get a feel of what working together will be like. I will want to find out about what brings you to counselling and little about your life in general at the moment. I will also want to find out about your history - your family, growing up, school etc.

Sometimes, people feel a little nervous in this first initial consultation and this is OK. What is important is that you believe that you will feel comfortable talking and thinking with me about what is going on for you. This is something you can start to get a feel for in the first session or two. You can also use the first session to ask any questions you may have of me and I will be happy to answer them as best I can.

At the end of the first session we agree whether to continue counselling or not. And if you're not sure? You can end counselling whenever you like, so if it takes more than the initial consultation for you to make up your mind, that's OK too.
