About me and my therapy practice
I am an EMDR Trauma Therapist and Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist. Working with depression, anxiety, grief and identity to mention a few.
I specialise in Male Childhood Trauma, working with males who have experienced physical and or emotional abuse during childhood.
I offer an initial 15 minute complementary zoom meeting or telephone call to give you a chance to check me out and ask any questions you may have before deciding if you are ready to commit to sessions with me - please contact me for times/days that I offer these meetings.
Our first session is where the work really starts to begin, I will provide a safe place for you to share your story in more detail. It is important to note that as the counsellor & psychotherapist I do not offer advice, you are in full control of the session.
Therapy is about relationship; it is important you feel at ease. The information you share with me is kept confidential.
Having served in the Royal Engineers within the Armed Forces I have a great understanding of the terminology used. I also have first-hand experience of the pressures that are upon service personnel and their families whilst serving their country both home and overseas.
I offer individual sessions, face to face and on line via zoom video conference. For more detailed information about my services please visit my website.
Practice description
We begin with a free initial telephone consultation, where you have the opportunity to explain the background around your issue and ask me questions before moving forward with our first session.
Each counselling session lasts 50 minutes either online using Zoom or at The Ketley Community Centre, Telford.
EMDR sessions can take longer, up to 90mins in duration.
Each session is personalised to you as an individual, with the aim of supporting you to overcome the challenge, problem or issue you are facing. We may start with Counselling & Psychotherapy and then move onto EMDR in dealing with specific traumas.
There is no minimum or maximum number of sessions you need to attend. Research suggests clients usually engage in an average of 6 sessions, bearing in mind it may take one to two sessions to understand your background before discussing the intricacies and possible resolutions.

Practice description
Using the 7 Eyed Model of Clinical Supervision:
Eye 1: Focus on the client
The supervisor getting an understanding of who this client is and who they are. Starting in supervision by asking the question, who is this client?
Eye 2: Focus on the strategies and interventions used by the supervisee
The supervisor focusing in on the intervention's that the supervisee's made in work with their clients, how and why they made them, what interventions they would rather have made and the potential future interventions. The supervisor gaining insight into how the supervisee works with the client.
Eye 3: Focus on the client- supervisee relationship
Supervision focuses on the conscious and unconscious interaction between the supervisee and the client. The supervisor looking out for any unconscious processes that may be present.
Eye 4: Focus on the supervisee
The Supervisor asking question's: how are you feeling after your meeting with this client? In what ways is this client like you and in what ways is it different from you? And what do you find difficult and challenging about this client? these question's looking to unpack possible transference and counter-transference's happening in the counselling room with supervisee's client's.
Eye 5: Focus on the supervisory relationship
The supervisor focusing on any barriers, working with supervisee's fears, possible dual relationships, any contracting needs the supervisee may have.
Eye 6: The supervisor focusing on their own process
Focus is on the supervisor's own process. The idea here is for the supervisor to focus on what's going on for them.
Eye 7: Focus on the wider contexts in which the work happens
Focus is on external factors, the idea is to explore the supervisee, what is happening externally around client supervisee and organisation, what is happening externally?
