About me and my therapy practice
Finding the right counsellor can be daunting that's why I offer a free 20 minute introductory session to make sure we are the right fit for each other. This initial meeting allows you to outline your reasons for seeking therapy. Have you ever found yourself thinking some of these things?
- Will I ever feel good enough?
- I'd really like some help with my anxiety.
- How can I overcome my bad habits?
- I've been feeling low for quite some time.
- I'd love to be more confident.
I can help you gain a greater sense of awareness into what you are experiencing in order to achieve the things you want out of life.
I also specialise in food addictions so if you're an emotional / binge eater, or struggle with your weight, I can help you overcome these obstacles and learn how to have a healthy relationship with food.
I place great importance on offering a safe, confidential space where you can be heard without prejudice. Together we can discover the choices you have and the ways in which you can make positive changes, in a supportive environment.

My first sessionOur first session consists of an assessment where I ask you various questions such as:
- why therapy; why now?
- your aims and goals of therapy
- any medication you are taking
- your support networks
- your availability to commit to sessions both with time and cost
This normally takes the whole of the first session and as you talk I will be taking hand written notes.
If conducting the session in person, this is where you can hand back your signed counselling agreement and privacy statement given to you in our introductory meeting.
