I work in person from city Center Norwich on Mondays.
I person from Harley street central London Thursdays.
About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified and experienced Integrative Psychotherapist, and Art therapist.
I am accredited with the HealthCare and Professionals Council (HCPC) and British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT).
I work one to one and with groups in private practice. I work with adults, couples and young people.
We will begin where we are, we can explore your feelings and experiences through talking and using art materials. No previous experience is necessary, you are enough. We work in the moment, going back for the young you when the earlier experiences and memories suggest themselves.
Remembering, discovering and exploring our possible connections to each other is on the path to a feeling of fulfilment. The therapeutic relationship is the foundation, from which the rest of the work can be explored.
I have worked therapeutically in a number of residential settings, the mental health system, NHS, schools hostels and in private practice, with young people, older people, and with people facing patterns of addiction. I worked in NHS for 4 years delivering Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT). This is a useful tool for mapping behaviours and understanding patterns.
I have been a Re Evaluation CoCounsellor for 20 years, specifically looking at how the systems of oppression have divided us and created internalised oppression. I am highly experienced in creating a safe enough space for you to feel heard, discharge of emotions is welcomed, and therefore change does occur.
Working in this way supports holistic, natural change and growth.
Locations of Practice : Harley street, Central London, Oxford Circus Tube.
The Practice Rooms Norwich City Centre.
I Also offer online services.
I look forward to hearing from you.
I will suggest you begin to keep a mood diary, as we will be entering in to a significant phase of your life, where you get to explore, process and integrate we will use talking, discharge processes (laughing, crying, shaking, raging) making artworks, sand tray to sometimes express feelings that don’t have words.
The body will keep us on track.
You become our focus, and therefore it’s helpful to track experiences you might be having between sessions. We will just become curious, and sharing thoughts and feelings between sessions will help develop an observing I, Eye. This can help with feelings of overwhelm and anxiety.
My first session
The first few sessions will be mostly working with a timeline of significant events that have happened to you in your life.
I will ask what you want to get out of therapy, and we will agree on a target problem, problems which we will keep in sight.
This is an interesting process as I get information and an overview of your life, and you get to slowly experience sharing things with someone else.
We will begin the process of creating a safe space together.
I will ask about why you came to therapy now, family history, and how you feel in the moment.
