About me and my therapy practice
I am a person-centred counsellor and work with adult clients on a one to one basis. I offer a warm compassionate atmosphere that gives clients the space to open up about what is troubling them. Our sessions together are confidential - clients choose what they want to discuss in therapy and we work at a pace they feel comfortable with.
I am by nature a good listener, empathic and non-judgmental. I believe it’s essential that clients feel supported, heard and understood.
Our first session is a great opportunity to see how compatible we are to take a therapeutic journey together. We'll also have the chance to discuss the logistical elements of our sessions- things like appointment times, fees and confidentiality. During this first appointment, we’re looking to explore what has brought you to counselling and to discuss your ideas about what you want from the process.
We all have our unique story and unique experiences, yet I have often found recurring themes arise in the therapy room that have affected many of us at one point or another - for example issues around feeling overwhelmed, anxiety, depression, loss, bereavement, loneliness, work, stress, health, self-esteem, being stuck, relationships etc. While these issues can leave us feeling isolated, they’re much more common than you may initially believe. Counselling gives us the opportunity to examine what exactly is causing you distress and help you to find resolution.
Being a counselling professional, I am a registered member of the BACP. As a person centred therapist, I'll support you so that you can develop the right approach for your unique situation. I aim to help you strengthen your resilience and ability to cope, resolve inner conflict, and overcome obstacles.
I offer sessions: weekdays between 10am and 8pm, and Saturday morning.
