About me and my therapy practice
At this unprecedented and difficult time, I am offering online as well as telephone counselling (depending on your preference). I use Zoom, Skype and other platforms (such as Doxy.me) and will provide technical instructions if needed.
I am a qualified Counsellor holding an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Therapy. From this in-depth training I can draw on various approaches, tailored to each person's needs.
My way of working is person-centred, meaning I consider you the expert on yourself. As your counsellor, I can guide and facilitate you to find your own truth. By careful listening along with a constant focus on how you experience the world, we can take this journey together, at your pace and to the depth at which you are comfortable. I will give you respect, appreciation and acceptance with no judgement, so you can, if you choose, feel safe enough to be yourself and work towards gaining resilience to face any difficulties you may be experiencing.
As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) my practice is thoroughly grounded in professional ethics underpinned by ongoing supervision and continual professional development to ensure I provide a confidential, safe environment and that I am the best I can be for you. Some of the approaches we may touch upon are:
• How Attachment patterns in early life are affecting your current relationships
• Working creatively to help you release your emotions
• Finding the significance of your ‘shadow’ side (Jungian approach)
• Exploring the parent, adult and child in you (Transactional Analysis)
• Existential ways to find meaning in whatever life throws at you
Ask me about a free ½ hour session to help you decide if counselling is for you.
