About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative counsellor and I work within a range of theories and practices. I combine my practice with who you are as an individual and what you bring to counselling to find the best way for us to work together.
We often can come up against situations in our lives that test our resilience and ability to cope. We can be so much on the go that we don’t take time to understand what we are feeling. Over time this can lead to a build up of stress, anxiety and despondency.
As well as this, we are often told that emotions are a sign of weakness and therefore should be brushed under the carpet. Which leaves us with an inability to connect and express the ways that we feel and are affected by various life events.
By bringing more self-awareness to our; emotions, thoughts, feelings and behaviours. We can begin to gain a better understanding of what you are struggling with and what patterns you are stuck in. So that we can begin to explore new and alternate ways for you to feel better in yourself and in your life as well.
If you would like to know more about how I work please visit my website:
Our first session together will be your assessment session. This gives me a chance for me to get to know you and for us to discuss what you would like to work on.
My work is open-ended, which means that there are no fixed number of sessions that we work to. However, as the work evolves we will have regular reviews to help monitor our progress.
I bring a warmth and lightness to the relationship providing you a unique place to de-compress. The work we will undertake will be confidential, safe and contained. Each week the work will always be guided by you. Long gone are the days were counsellors are silent nodding dogs occasionally making soothing noises. I am very much a part of the process and am here to help facilitate self-awareness, self-discovery and growth; collaborating and working alongside you all the way.
Counselling for me is not just about looking at what you are struggling with in life. Whilst we do all go through dark and difficult times were we suffer, this is only half the story. Counselling is also about looking at what makes us laugh, what we value and appreciate and what makes us want to get out of bed in the morning!
I am currently taking on new clients so please feel free to contact me to discuss any questions you may have and to make arrangements for counselling.
