About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced, BACP accredited counsellor. I qualified over ten years ago and currently run a private practice online for adolescents and adults.

Whatever your reasons for seeking therapy, it can be daunting to put yourself in the vulnerable position of asking for help. We can be so accustomed to the painful habits we have developed that it can feel scary to consider changing them. Sometimes being in the midst of a crisis can mean that finding the energy to take the next step can be hard. Sometimes we have waited so long for a space to talk that it can feel overwhelming to even contemplate trying.

Whatever you are bringing and however you feel about it, part of my job is to make this process as easy and as supportive as possible. Therapy sessions are a place for you to explore those difficult places, and to go there with someone who understands and can be alongside you.

I strongly believe that, with the right support, everyone has the strength and capacity to grow beyond the boundaries of what they feel confined by. Therapy is an opportunity to understand ourselves better and to learn some tools to support us as we grow.

I currently offer short and long-term sessions for adolescents and adults, as well as one-off or ongoing parent consultations. I am committed to making therapy accessible so please get in touch if you would like to discuss concessionary fees.

Practice description

I draw on a range of approaches in my work. This includes attachment and trauma-informed thinking, body-based strategies and psychoeducation. However, my main focus is on providing a space where you feel comfortable. We can work together to find an approach and pace that suits you.

I love my work and am passionate about adding to and developing my skills. I am a qualified teacher, Early Years Professional and Attachment Lead and have extensive training in working therapeutically with children and teenagers. I have also trained in a range of somatic and trauma-informed approaches with adults. For a full list of my training and qualifications, please see my website: www.quietspacetherapy.co.uk.

I am a registered member of the BACP and PCSR (Psychotherapists and Counsellors for Social Responsibility).

My first session

I offer a free 30-minute session where you can ask questions and get a sense of me and how I work. Finding the right therapist is essential so it's important to know that you will be working with someone you feel safe and at ease with.

If you would like to continue working together, I will send you some paperwork which outlines the details of how I work and we can arrange a regular day and time to meet.

Please get in touch and we can discuss how I can support you.
