About me and my therapy practice

At times we can all experience life situations and events that feel very overwhelming. It may create feelings of anger, stress, being unable to cope with everyday situations, feelings of sadness, of being low, frustration or powerlessness. Sometimes it may be hard to find someone to talk to who will understand and appreciate what it is that you may be experiencing. At times it may just be too hard to work out what is going on for you. Counselling can be a real opportunity to explore not only the current issues and what is bringing you but also to look at the root causes of your difficulties and to work with any patterns and behaviours that may be unhelpful. As a Psychodynamic Counsellor my aim is to firstly provide a warm, friendly, confidential and professional environment in which you can explore the issues that you feel need addressing. We will look at the underlying issues that are causing these difficulties and work towards change and self-discovery.

I offer both short term and long-term counselling for both individuals and couples. I am fully insured and am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) abiding by their ethical framework and guidelines. I am also an Accredited Counsellor with the National Counselling Society (NCS). All my work is fully supervised and I am insured. I also regularly attend continuous professional development training opportunities

I work purely as an Online Therapist via the use of email, instant chat or video .  I am a member of the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO).

I offer fortnightly face to face appointments. Online appointments can be arranged weekly and a mixture of both can be arranged if preferred.

Individuals £60 , couples £75,

Practice description

Currently I work solely in private practice, which I have developed over many years, working with varying issues during this time. I have also been fortunate to work with young people and adolescence for many years and previously worked for a local Young Peoples Counselling Organisation. Although I continue to work with this age group in a private capacity I also offer therapy to Individual Adults and Couples. I have also previously worked for a Sexual Health Charity so am comfortable in talking about issues relating to sexual health and sexual intimacy.

My main interest is working with Men in Therapy as I understand how hard it can be for men to access therapy to start with. It may take a few attempts or a point of crisis to think about therapy and my aim is to work very much with the many expectations and myths that exist around what it is to be a Man in todays world and the challenges that present themselves.

I also have an interest in working with LGBTQI clients, working with the many issues that can present themselves within this group.

I am committed to providing a safe, non judgemental space for all my clients and maintain a very professional approach to my work. I will attend training courses on a regular basis to ensure that my work continues to meet these standards, thus increasing my knowledge and understanding in the best interest of those I work with.
