About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Jen.

The thought of counselling can be daunting and I know that it can take time to gain trust. I work in a way which will help you feel relaxed and at ease, offering support and encouragement.

My clients tell me I’m warm, empathic and easy to talk to.

My priority is that you feel comfortable within sessions so that you feel safe to go where you need to, with absolutely no pressure from me to go anywhere you don't want to or don't feel ready to.

At times in life it can feel that people don't understand us, like we are being judged for the way we feel, like we should be able to ‘just get on with things’.

You may be feeling lonely and isolated, like you are the only one who feels like you do.You may have feelings of being ‘stuck’ or 'lost' and unsure of why or what you can do to change it.

You may be having trouble sleeping, waking up with an overwhelming feeling of anxiety.

Maybe you can't escape feelings of ‘not being good enough’ and it's having an impact on your day to day life.

Maybe you are feeling angry or frustrated. You don't need to be alone with your thoughts. Counselling can help.

I work from a room in Northwich Town Centre, as well as remotely using Zoom.

Practice description

Counselling allows you time to develop a deeper understanding of yourself, an opportunity to learn to live life more freely, reconnecting with yourself in a safe and non-judgmental space. Counselling can help to increase your confidence, as well as increase your self-awareness, and self-acceptance.

The relationship between the client and counsellor is hugely important. I offer a free introductory call/ video call where you can ask any questions you may have about counselling, as well as understand how counselling could help you.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to begin developing a trusting and open relationship with each other. We will go through a counselling agreement/ contract which provides us both with clear boundaries for our work together.

I will take a few details such as contact details, and then the session is a chance for you to begin to explore what you want it is you want to with no pressure to talk about anything that you don't want to.
