About me and my therapy practice
I provide online therapy for adults.
I help academics such as PhD students, researchers, lecturers and other University staff to address personal and emotional problems that impact their work and home life so that they can realise their full academic and personal potential.
Do any of the following resonate with you?
You're feeling overwhelmed, stressed, out of control, experiencing low mood and anxiety.
You’re returning to academia after a break and are struggling to adapt to your work regime and to juggle family commitments.
You feel as though you aren’t good enough for the role or studies you’ve taken on perhaps experiencing imposter syndrome
You feel lonely within your team and worry that you don’t fit in or perhaps there is conflict or issues with colleagues or your supervisor.
You feel as though your colleagues are trampling on you, are not as respectful as they could be or that they just don’t listen to your ideas
You put the needs of others first and your own needs last.
Our work together can relieve your stress and help you to manage it better leading to less anxiety and increased satisfaction with life. We can also help you look at things from different perspectives, be more accepting of yourself, develop new ways of thinking, cope with change and set boundaries with others. By cultivating your self worth, we can develop your assertiveness so as to honour your own needs and well being. We can empower you to communicate more effectively, make better connections, feel calmer, moving you towards a happier life.
I’m experienced in providing therapy by remote technology so as to make my sessions more flexible/accessible to you wherever you live in the UK. All of my sessions take place by secure video. You just need a reasonable internet connection and a place where you can see me undisturbed.
The next step is for you to book a session with me by emailing me at mrobertsoncounselling@gmail.com or texting/phoning 07501729248.

About me and my therapy practice
Are you plagued with thoughts of not being good enough, feeling like a fraud at work, college or university, lacking confidence in your own abilities, struggling with imposter syndrome? This kind of thinking can lead to anxiety, depression and debilitating feelings of unworthiness. Your thoughts can lead to perfectionism, procrastination, unfulfilled goals or lack of goals at all, missed opportunities, a sense of stuckness and unfulfillment etc.
Together we can explore your feelings of not being good enough, identify and understand the origins of that thinking and learn to challenge it and turn around negative self talk. If you’d like to increase your confidence and self esteem, change your mindset about your own abilities, moving you forward in a better, calmer and more fulfilling way – please get in touch
