Occassionally, I take other breaks for conferences or training, but will  discuss this well in advance.

About me and my therapy practice

A 35 year career  in  emotional, behavioural, & mental health care enables me to work with  maturity, sensitivity, and respect.

My primary practice method is 'psychodynamic counselling & psychotherapy', however,  during and following  the assessment process  I am fluid and adaptive  to meeting the bespoke  needs of each individual client. This means being receptive to and carefully drawing upon an array of techniques and psychological  methodologies that honours each clients uniquely emergent Self.

As part of my ongoing personal l development, I engage regular clinical supervision to hold in check that my professional practice is focused, solid, and evolving.

I am a registered member of the BACP and studied and trained at the Universities of Cambridge, London, Oxford, the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, The British Association of Psychotherapists and the Institute for Group Analyses.

Practice description

In light of the rescinding  of Covid restrictions, I am, where it is the clients choice,  returning to meeting 'in person'. This can be discussed and arranged on an individual basis.

I appreciate that for a variety of reasons some people may prefer to continue to engage therapy  by video conferencing or telephone and we can discuss this during the assessment.

My first session

The first session is an assessment session which will last for 50 minutes. In this we will discuss the reasons you are seeking therapy at this time, your hopes and perhaps worries about beginning therapy and any other issues you want to bring.

We will also discuss some practical 'housekeeping' matters such as the time of sessions, boundaries, confidentiality, holidays, breaks and cancellations.
