About me and my therapy practice
Hello, in searching for a counsellor things may feel tough for you at the moment. It can be so hard finding the right way forward, I hope we can work together to help it all feel far less burdensome.
I have worked as a therapist for 10 years, providing over 8000 hours of therapy with people who want to feel more able to live their lives. Their 'mental tank' may have long since been full, or life events have taken their toll.
I counsel for the Police Federation and the NHS, as well as seeing clients privately. I have significant experience working with people who may feel reluctant or unsure about therapy.
Counselling is a highly effective way of building your inner and outer resources to help you lead your life the way you want to.
As an experienced counsellor, I am continually training, researching, writing and developing. I am qualified to level 7 (MA) and an accredited member of the BACP.
In the past I lectured in counselling, training mature students to become qualified counsellors at a large local college. Now, in addition to my client work, I train qualified counsellors to supervise other counsellors.
Seeing a counsellor and deciding to explore your life and situation takes real courage. The results can be remarkable and can transform the way you feel about your life moving forward.
Time to start your Next Chapter? Get in touch and let's get started.
My first session
Sessions are charged £50 for 50 minutes.
Initial sessions include a brief discussion of your situation and a counselling agreement. We will also consider carefully what you would like to change by the time our work ends (in your life or in your mind). This session is the start of your counselling journey. I will prepare you for our work and help you feel comfortable to explore what brings you to see me.
Choosing the right counsellor for you is extremely important, after this session you can decide whether you would like to proceed or discontinue sessions. You can go away and give it some thought, it is your choice. There is no pressure to continue.
Sessions are generally held on a weekly basis and we will review progress every 5 sessions. Many people notice positive changes in their state of mind by session 5.
Meetings can be arranged around your commitments as much as possible and you do not need to agree to the same time each week.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello,
Are you looking for an approachable, down to earth supervisor who is also well qualified and highly experienced? I pride myself in being approachable and authentic in all areas of my life and work.
I am a BACP Accredited counsellor qualified to Level 7 (MA Psych), qualified supervisor (PG.Dip) and qualified adult lecturer in counselling (PGCE).
You may have seen my face on social media as I teach various lectures for the Counselling Tutor as well as teaching on the Counselling Tutor Level 6 course in Supervision.
I am deeply passionate about counselling, I have lectured it, read about it, studied and discussed it much of the time for over 10 years!
Due to lecturing in counselling in the past I have a thorough understanding of theory, ethics and the use of counselling skills, which has been very useful when supporting supervisees. I trained in supervision to connect my love of training with my love of counselling.
As part of the supervisory service I offer, I will invite supervisees to practice skills with me. We may record a session for future reflection. This is an informal opportunity to identify areas for development and celebrate strengths.
As a supervisor I am warm, down to earth and transparent. I encourage supervisees to speak openly in a productive, calm and supportive atmosphere. I am also very congruent as a character and will speak openly if I have any observations, concerns or insights which may help broaden your awareness and enhance your practice.
We will work alongside each other as professionals and address issues raised through in depth exploration and mature discussion. I hope we will also have a laugh too!
Fees
My fee is £60per hour for qualified and trainee counsellors. In most circumstances this will mean a £90 per month financial commitment.
Feel free to call, send a message or email and we can arrange an initial 10-15 minute zoom meeting.
