About me and my therapy practice
Life can feel overwhelming to us all at times. Talking about problems and feelings with someone you trust can really help but it's not always easy to talk to the people around us. Maybe you're worried that people will judge you or you might think they're part of the problem. It could be that you're struggling to express what's bothering you. You might not want to have to consider how what you're experiencing impacts the person you talk to about it. You may just feel like others wouldn't really listen, care enough or understand. Whatever your reasons for seeking counselling, I aim to offer a safe space to talk without any of those barriers, to listen without judgement and to help you make sense of things to find a way forward.
I offer unlimited counselling and psychotherapy for a range of issues such as stress, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, anger, relationship difficulties and trauma. I can also help if you're feeling stuck and unsure how to move forward.
I work with both men and women and am equally passionate about the experiences of women and in ending the stigma surrounding mental health issues for men. I strongly believe that reaching out for help when you're struggling shows great strength and have helped both male and female clients overcome limiting beliefs and traumatic experiences to achieve positive results.
I have a special interest in helping adults work through difficult and traumatic childhood and relationship experiences including:
parental separation and divorce,
abandonment and neglect,
volatile and violent family environment,
emotional, physical and sexual abuse
I do not work with couples or Covid19 bereavement.
I run my private therapy practice from a soundproofed office in a quiet business centre. I offer face to face counselling to clients who are fully vaccinated against Covid19, with some preventative measures in place such as socially distanced seating, cleaning between appointments and ventilation.
I also offer online counselling using Zoom which means I can work with you wherever you are located in the UK.
My first session
During our first session you will have the opportunity to tell me what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from it. The initial session is an opportunity for you to get a feel for whether you'd like to work with me and for me to assess whether I have the appropriate skills and experience to help you.
