About me and my therapy practice
Perhaps right now you're going through something that's just too big to untangle alone, or maybe you feel you've got stuck and don't know how to move on from here. In my counselling practice I aim to create a sanctuary for my clients to retreat to within their present life, to come to a deeper clarity and discover new ways to move forward.
My therapy is structured around the methods and ethos of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (3rd wave CBT), supported by classical humanistic and psychodynamic approaches. But each therapy is unique and I liken this to a journey - from where you were, to where you are, to where you're heading. My practice is change oriented - together we can plot a course. And central to my approach is that I accept you for who you are, and you may find that your knowledge of who you are, and how you are out there in the world, becomes clearer during therapy.
In addition to my clinical work I am a university lecturer in counselling and mental health and am in the process of completing my PhD.
I can offer therapy for those struggling with depression, anxiety, family issues, feelings of aloneness, low self-esteem, bereavement and loss, physical symptoms and other health issues, spiritual concerns and the search for meaning.
My practice is based in the village of Bramham and I can also offer video conferencing sessions (e.g. Skype). I am also now offering weekend appointments.
