About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative counsellor working one to one with adults aged 18+. I use person centred methods to build our therapeutic relationship, which means I hold you at the centre of all we do and you are in control of each session and what we cover. I can use Gestalt, trans-personal and cognitive behavioural therapies where appropriate to best support you. Sometimes talking is difficult or just isn't enough. I can offer creative approaches such as using imagery, drawing or sand play to help you explore the issue you bring.
I work with a wide range of issues, including bereavement, health concerns, anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties. Sometimes it might be more of a sense of feeling stuck but not knowing quite why.
Practice description
Grieving? Feeling stuck or struggling to adjust to a change in your life? Perhaps you need to talk to someone about something that happened a long time ago. Counselling gives you the space to explore these issues in a supportive, safe way. I will work at your pace to help you explore your issue in a non judgemental and non directive way.
My first session
When you contact me we will arrange a time to talk on the telephone if you would like. This gives you an opportunity to get a feel of whether you might want to book a session and I offer this free of charge.
Following that call, if you wish to book a session, I will email you some information including how to pay for your session.
At your first session we will explore a bit more about what brings you to counselling and what you would like to achieve from it. We will take things at a pace that feels comfortable to you. If at the end of that session we both feel that we can work safely together, we can book further sessions from there.
