Practice description
I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor, I work psychodynamically, meaning I offer you a space to explore your problems in a way that refers to your past, thinking about potential conflicts or issues that are relevant to your life as it is now.
Getting Started
If you are feeling “stuck”, unable to make sense of something, it can seem overwhelming; talking together can enable you to move out of that position. Whether you are living with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, OCD, PTSD, combat stress, struggling with decision making, bereavement or loss in all its many forms; talking with a trained counsellor can be beneficial for you and those closest to you.
I offer counselling to adults in Weston-Super-Mare.
I have a small practice for young people aged between 15-18. My Post Graduate training with the Bristol Bridge Foundation has qualified me to work effectively with children and young people using psychodynamic counselling skills.
As with adults I offer an Introductory session for the young person to get a taste of how I work, and it provides an opportunity for me to see whether counselling is suitable for them or whether I need to direct them towards a different mental health service.
Should the work continue, I offer young people 12 weeks of weekly counselling. If the young person requires more long term work we can have a conversation about extending.
Confidentially and boundaries are clearly explained and agreed with the young person and carer/ parent before the therapy begins.
My first session
I offer an Introductory session, to discuss your needs, for you to get a sense of how I work, and whether it is an appropriate choice for you.
Introductory sessions are £25, standard session are £48, both of 50 minute duration.
